The Fertility Class is guided by advisors with expertise in reproductive endocrinology, fertility treatment and reproductive epidemiology. They review our content, advise on how our movement program is adapted alongside fertility treatment, and help shape how we build evidence for our methodology.

Founder and CEO, Vie Science
Adjunct Professor, McGill University
Former faculty member, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Dr. Carmen Messerlian is a reproductive and environmental epidemiologist and the founder and CEO of Vie Science. Her research examines how environmental exposures and lifestyle factors affect a couple's ability to conceive, maintain a pregnancy and have a healthy child. From 2019 to 2025 she was on the faculty of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with a joint appointment in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and founded the Scientific Early Life Environmental Health and Development (SEED) Program. She has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers, much of it on how endocrine-disrupting chemicals such as phthalates and PFAS, and the preconception health of both partners, affect fertility, IVF and pregnancy outcomes. She is an adjunct professor at McGill University. She holds a BS in nursing and a PhD in epidemiology from McGill and an MSc in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and began her career as a pediatric nurse at the Montreal Children's Hospital.
As Scientific Advisor, Dr. Messerlian will help shape the scientific direction of The Fertility Class, including evidence development and opportunities for research related to movement and reproductive health.
