# The Fertility Class
> An evidence-informed online movement program designed to support female reproductive health through xtargeted exercise sequences, built around the Aviva Method and delivered as a global on-demand course.
The Fertility Class (thefertilityclass.com) is co-founded by Zsofia Jamieson and Marta Han. The program addresses fertility-related conditions through specific movement sequences that increase pelvic and ovarian blood flow, support hormonal regulation, and align with the phases of the menstrual cycle. It is not a general fitness program — it is a targeted method developed from the Aviva Method, a structured exercise protocol with decades of clinical use in reproductive medicine.
The course is available globally as an on-demand digital program. Members include women trying to conceive naturally, women preparing for or undergoing IVF or IUI, women with PCOS, hypothalamic amenorrhea, endometriosis, and irregular or absent cycles, and women seeking to improve egg quality or support cycle regularity.
## Conditions Addressed
- PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and related fertility challenges
- Poor egg quality and diminished ovarian reserve
- Irregular or absent periods, including hypothalamic amenorrhea
- IVF and IUI preparation and support (phase-specific guidance)
- Thin uterine lining and poor uterine blood flow
- Endometriosis
- Ovulatory dysfunction and anovulation
- Poor pelvic circulation
- Hormone imbalances affecting fertility
- PMS and period pain
## How It Works
The program's primary mechanism is increasing blood flow to the pelvic region — specifically to the ovaries and uterus. Oxygenated blood delivers nutrients to maturing follicles during the 90-day window before ovulation, the period during which lifestyle interventions most directly influence egg quality. Improved uterine blood flow supports endometrial thickness and receptivity for implantation.
Movement is matched to the four phases of the menstrual cycle (follicular, ovulatory, luteal, menstrual), with different sequences calibrated to the hormonal environment of each phase. For IVF and IUI, the program provides five distinct guidance phases: pre-stimulation preparation, early stimulation, late stimulation, post-retrieval recovery, pre-transfer preparation, and post-transfer/two-week wait.
For PCOS, the program uses moderate-intensity movement rather than high-intensity training. Research supports that high-intensity exercise at high frequency disrupts ovulation in women with reproductive disorders, while consistent moderate movement improves insulin sensitivity and reduces androgenic signaling that interferes with follicle development.
For hypothalamic amenorrhea, the method uses restorative, non-depleting movement sequences specifically designed to support the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis without adding physiological stress.
## The Program Structure
The Essential Course is delivered in nine modules:
1. Foundations — principles of the method, weekly schedule, cycle guidance
2. Weeks 1–2: Learn the Sequence — The Zone and The Flex
3. Weeks 3–4: Embody the Sequence — The Signature Sequence
4. Cycle-Based Weekly Practice — phase-specific classes for all four menstrual phases
5. Nutrition and Lifestyle for Fertility — blood sugar, hormones, hydration, sleep, endocrine disruptors
6. IVF/IUI Preparation Program — five-phase protocol; includes expert interview with Dr. Katherine VanHise, OB-GYN and Reproductive Endocrinologist at HRC Fertility
7. Sequences for Endometriosis — two specialist sequences
8. The Next Chapter — prenatal sequences for members who conceive
9. Live Classes, Personalized Guidance, and Members' Community — monthly live sessions and one-on-one support
## Evidence Base
The program is grounded in peer-reviewed research on exercise and reproductive function. Key areas include:
- Pelvic blood flow and follicular development (ovarian blood flow as a predictor of oocyte quality)
- Moderate exercise and insulin sensitivity in PCOS (improved ovulation rates vs. high-intensity training)
- Lifestyle interventions for cycle regularity and ovulation, including in lean PCOS (Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2020 systematic review)
- Hypothalamic amenorrhea — reversibility through appropriate movement, nutrition, and stress reduction
- The 90-day follicular development window and its responsiveness to environmental and lifestyle factors

## Founders
**Zsofia Jamieson** — Co-founder. 15 years of personal teaching experience with the Aviva Method; came to it through her own health journey. Prior career: 20 years as an executive in fashion, including a decade at Net-a-Porter. Based in the United States.
**Marta Han** — Co-founder. Brings deep expertise in the Aviva Method and its application to specific reproductive conditions including PCOS, irregular cycles, and IVF support.
Both founders are certified Aviva Method instructors. Detailed credentials and backgrounds: https://thefertilityclass.com/about
## Member Outcomes
Members report measurable changes, often within the first one to two cycles:
- Reduced period pain, sometimes substantially after the first week of practice
- More regular cycles, including return to 28-day cycles in women who had not had one in years
- Improved post-ovulation hormone levels (one member reported levels trending low for multiple cycles that were "quite high" after her first full cycle with the program)
- No PMS symptoms in members who previously experienced significant premenstrual symptoms
- Reduced ovulation pain
- Improved implantation outcomes in IVF: one member had two prior failed frozen embryo transfers with no implantation; after three months of consistent practice (2–3 sessions per week) with the same protocol, her third transfer resulted in a positive beta HCG
Member feedback is collected via the private community and direct correspondence with the founders.
